Spent about an hour and a half doing bucket dumps last night.  Using yet another Yahoo group tip, the bucket dumps serve to fill in all the cracks, gaps, and air pockets in a small area of ice.  Rather than trickling water with a hose, you bombard the area with water from a large bucket.  It self-levels and freezes relatively quickly.  With sub-25-degree temps overnight last night, I have high hopes for today.  We have a pair of Christmas parties to attend tonight, but I’ll hopefully be home in time to get a night skate in tonight.
