Hello from Georgetown,ma

Well, Newbie here building a 24x56 rink with about 8" of slope. so 12" at deep end and 4" at shallow end. I used 1/2 " plywood with a 2x4 perimeter. Filled it during the big rain storm 2 weeks ago. We had some weather to create a pretty good slab but of course that completely mel...

Re: netting support

I was thinking of 2 x4's screwed into my 18" boards. The only thing I am afraid of is the stress they will place on the boards especially if it is windy.

Re: netting support

I already have the netting and some extra 10 foot 2x4's thinking of screwing them into the boards and then stapling to the 2x4's. I will use a string on the top for tension.

Re: netting support

ok. I did the 2x4's and angle brace. Came out pretty good for a 1st time try. Yes I am worried about the poles but I think with short boards the poles are not the only place one get injured. I really want to buy bumper caps but they are so damn expensive.

cracking

Well, maybe am I just too impatient for this hobby. I decided I wanted to resurface to get the bumps left by Mondays slush. I could not clean it properly as the ice was not strong enough. I can stand on the deep end with no issues but the shallow end cracked enough for water to come through from bel...
